The hardware and software were redesigned from scratch without reference to the original. A novel technique for interfacing the thermocouple to the microprocessor improved accuracy and slashed cost. The entire code was written in Assembler to fit in the processor's internal memory. |

This Brake Fluid Tester has been redesigned to reduce cost. The electronics interface to a probe containing a heater and thermocouple. The micro controls the heater and monitors the thermocouple. Automatic analysis of the temperature profile determines the brake fluid boiling point and thus its safety. The unit can display BP in °C of °F. |

Cost saving is always a priority. By using surface mount technology, shrinking from two down to one PCB and eliminating a number of expensive components, the product manufacturing costs were halved, whilst features and accuracy were improved. |
